January is coming to a close- WOW! Does anyone else feel like this month seriously flew by? No? Just me? It must be all that great sleep I'm getting with my teething baby [sarcasm]! ;)
Well, I can honestly say that this month I can see great improvement in my photo skills. Picking up my camera every.single.day will do that. Not that I'm complaining!! I can't believe how much I honestly fall in love with taking pictures with each click of that shutter. I have seriously found my passion and I can't be thankful enough that I get to do this every day.
I thought it might be fun to pick out my top five shots from this month to showcase them here on my blog. There are some that mean more than others because they capture a special memory or meaning in my life, but for this blog post I'd like to stick with my favorite shots because of their artistic points in which I feel like I'm growing. Here goes:
SnowDay
Why I love it: Composition. Love this tree with it's gorgeous snow. Love the look of my little "model" looking into the distance.
HereistheSteeple
Why I love it: Silhouette. I can honestly say I did not know how to properly shoot and edit a silhouette until this shot. Love learning new things.
MyView
Why I Love it: My main personal challenge this month was to work on focus when I'm shooting wide open (which is necessary sometimes when you're shooting indoors). Feeling much more confident with such a wide aperture and it feels good.
AChillyWalk
Why I love it: My intent for doing this project 365 is to think "outside the box." I tend to want to always shoot people and I'm happy to say I expanded my horizons this month with a couple landscape shots- like this one!
HereComestheSun
Why I love it: I've heard it said many, many times before: photography is all about finding.the.light. Let me tell you- when you live in Washington and it's January- that is a tough thing to do. I've had to definitely be creative with my approach to shooting indoors this month.
